Early Impact from Read-Haiti

Launched in 2017, Read-Haiti is a W.K. Kellogg Foundation-funded, and implemented by University of Notre-Dame in 80 of the MSN schools. As part of its main objectives, Read-Haiti aims to help than 50% of students to achieve mastery in basic literacy by 3rd grade.

Initial results indicate progress in 8 out of 9 EGRA sub-skills, 7 reaching a conventional level of statistical significance for one or more groups tested.

The progress with greater benefits has been observed as part of the 1st year curriculum, including basic reading skills, phonemic awareness and decoding.
