Transforming Education in Haiti: A Collective Impact Initiative

In the heart of Haiti’s Central Plateau, the Model School Network (MSN) is pioneering a movement that reimagines education by leveraging the power of collaboration.

We are a Collective Impact Initiative—a coalition of Haitian and international partners —united by a common vision: to build a stronger, more equitable education system that empowers every child to succeed. We are school network leaders, university researchers, curriculum developers, instructional coaches, educators, community organizers, and advocates.

Our approach is grounded in co-creating solutions that can scale across diverse educational contexts, starting in some of Haiti’s most underperforming schools. We believe that by identifying and disseminating evidence-based teaching, learning, and governance practices, we can foster positive, sustainable change that extends beyond individual schools and transforms the entire educational ecosystem.

What Is Collective Impact?

It involves the commitment of a group of change agents from different sectors to work towards a common agenda. Meaningful results happen thanks to five key components of Collective Impact.

Join us in shaping the future of Haiti’s children through innovative, data-driven, and community-centered approaches. Together, we can ensure that every student thrives.

Common Agenda: All participants share a common vision for change, which includes a shared understanding of the problem and a joint approach to solving it through agreed-upon actions.

Shared Measurement Systems: Stakeholders agree on how success will be measured and reported, ensuring that all efforts are aligned and participants hold each other accountable.

Mutually Reinforcing Activities: Each participant’s activities are different but coordinated to support and reinforce the work of others, contributing to the overall goal.

Continuous Communication: Regular, open communication is essential among all participants to build trust, ensure mutual objectives, and create a common motivation.

Backbone Support Organization: A separate organization or group of staff with specific skills is designated to manage the initiative, coordinate the activities, and serve as a facilitator to keep the collaboration moving forward.
